You shouldn't go wrong with the powerlite. The 10' #6 was reviewed in FF&FT a while back and it certainly got the thumbs up. While B&W line ratings are for DT profiles the reviewer did point out that the rod was perfectly capable with a WF7.
One of the regulars at Threipmuir has one and as he says " when it falls apart and stops working I'll change itbut for now I can't think of a reason to". He uses his with  Scientific Anglers Supreme II WF7.

                             Anyway, tightstring, Greenwell.

Hi Allan,

Thanks for the info. I live up in the frozen north! (Inverness) So if there are any gatherings over the winter months i'll try and come along. From my experience with B&W salmon rods i'd agree that they are sometimes a touch under rated. Like you say, its always best to try before you buy. I take it Haddo is a rainbow fishery?

Cheers
Murray
