I just got myself one of these bad boys and to say that they are incredibly well engineered would not be doing them any justice whatsoever. It is a Hatch 9 Plus and already I absolutely love it  :D

My mate dropped it off last night and I loaded it up with backing and running line. I have a number of various heads to go on it and a shitload of rods to stick it on. It really is burning a hole in my reel case

Very nice, take it that's not a budget reel?!

That's some reel. A bit out of my price range tho..................

very nice! i'm still eyeing up a custom Abel, but I just can't shake the idea that it would pay for two trips to spain.....

Even if you did buy one at full bat they are worth every penny. in my daytime role I run a precision engineering company and in all honesty roughed out some numbers of what a couple of billets of aircraft grade aluminium would cost me in order to make one. Then worked out the cost of producing the drag which is stainless steel and fully enclosed. Then the cost of the hard anodising. Then the cost of the one way bearing. Before I had finished I worked out that it would cost me almost as much as these things cost at full list price for me to produce one. Granted these things are mass produced which does of course bring down prices considerably but it only goes so far. They have a lifetime guarantee without any questions being asked. This also adds value.

The best drag I have ever seen on a reel. The smoothness of the working parts are brilliant as well. I got a couple in a sale and use them for my river fishing.
