I was having a wee rake around in the cupboard the other night and found my old fishermans handbook collection, first published in 1978.Having a flick through them reminded me of when i was a boy, and thinking how exciting it would be to catch all of those different species of fish, pike , perch, roach, tench etc. At the time an 8 oz trout from the burn was a monster, and any other form of fishing was just a dream.

Nearly 30 years later and i have managed to tick a few species of the list, but there are still many more that i haven't caught ....yet. But i was thinking what great wee books they are, they inspired me from a young age to go out and fish.

Are there any books that inspired you to fish from a young age?

cheers
