Can anyone recommend a top-notch fishing  book to buy? I was a bit disappointed with "Fishing a Highland Stream"  and need my faith resorted.

My choice is based on a good read rather than instruction, particularly travel so here's some books that have got the ultimate sanction - a second or third read.

Fishing in Wild Places - David Street
A Singing Reel - Moray McLaren
Going Fishing - Negley Farson
A Season in Galloway - Robin Ade
Fly fishing through Russia - Fen Montaigne (not really a pure fishing book)
