Although I was feeling much better by the middle of Jan I still wasn't up to walking up and down the riverbank.
So I was busy tying and organizing my tying bench. It was looking like a disaster area(well thats an understatement ) BUT not anymore. :)
Come on lets see your messes!!!!!
This is my latest acquisition. It's a breakfast tray attached to a bean bag.
Ideal for use in the living room.
Alex
Your no that old you've got to tie flies during your nap time?? :D

I remember Chas Chandler saying that Hendrix used to have a guitar slung around his neck at all times. Even in the bog :D

Hmmm... It is rumoured that Bill Gates is tearing his hair out, because his dream of a "paper-less" world has suffered a severe setback. Microsoft developers are said to be working overtime on a method for wiping their arses on a Vista lap-top.
Several people who maintained this was the best use for a Vista lap-top anyway, were fired on the spot!
( No they weren?t!. I just made it up! :) )

Mike, it's actually a tin of Barbour wax, which, to my mind, makes great dubbing wax!

Very nice set-up! Do you use a normal tungsten desk lamp? I had one very similar to that, anglepoise as I recall, but it got very hot, and was difficult to adjust etc.
I found a very nice low voltage halogen lamp with a reflector plate etc. Fully adjustable and EASILY! The head rotates 360? if desired. I will see if I can find one on the web and add the URL here. It really made a big difference for me. Was not expensive either.
Could not find the exact one, but it is very similar to this;

Thanks Mike. I've tried all kinds of lighting and always return to the one shown, Anglepoise lamp with daylight simulation bulb. It's fairly easy to adjust and doesn't get too hot. I've tried halogen lighting before, but I find the light a little too harsh for my liking. Thanks for the link though.
Bloody Hell !!! that's some set up scotfly. Very nice could I also mention that I am very envious. :)

They're me underwear drawers.
My previous fly tying room, before I moved to
Engl En a less civilised country, was a small walk-in cupboard. My next one will be my sons bedroom, that's if he will hurry up and get out! I mean he was 16 October I've kept him long enough.

My wife just seen the fotie of yer superdooperflytyingarea. Sed excellent.
I have to tidy mine up every Saturday morning whether it needs it or not
or its down the hoover with the lot.
How many fly boxes do you have. Does it sometimes no get confusing, what fly
to use.
Will post mine sometime after I've tidied it up or there will be nothing to show unless
a picture of the hoover will suffice.
Davie
I've got something like 21 fly boxes Davie, Trout, Seatrout and Salmon flies. The trout are separated into types of fly.. Drys, nymphs, traditional, etc.
I'm never confused as to what fly to use, the fish however appear to be frequently confused by my choice of fly. :?
This is it post Saturday clean up or its down the hoover. Most stuff stored under
neath the table so she cannot see it.

Here's mine. Interesting the number of guitars appearing in people's pics. Mine are all in other places!

Hmm Ptinid, I deduce from your picture (takes puff from Sherlock Holmes pipe) that (takes another puff) You are...
1 - A production tier... Two vices
2 - Tie small flies... Two Microscopes.
3 - Are a cross dresser ...Pink desk
4 - Either suffer from piles or are very old, or both! ... Cushion on chair
So you're a retired fly dressing, cross dressing production tier with small flies and piles. :freeked
Am I right?
