hi all
this may seem a silly question, but has anyone made a jig for tying a dropper loop,i have followed the animated film ,and after 5 yards of line managed to make one, i found this labour intensive, {that sounds good eh}  so im going to have to think of something to make this easier,i would like to make my own droppers, but at 20 min a time, i could use another knot but i like the idea of this knot sticking out,any ideas that would get my time down to 15min would be progress

I have started using leader rings. They are far more convenient when changing  flies. Droppers  becoming too short is no longer an issue and changes in tactics are easier and much quicker too. The 3 or 4 turn water knot  is  the way to go if you don't use rings

QuoteIf anyone knows the name of that knot...feel free to point to one of the sites that gives a diagram. There are some excellent ones.

Sounds like the Water/Cove/Surgeons knot (they are one and the same.)

Like Swithun says, tie your dropper to the tag end pointing away from the rod (i.e. the one pointing back to the end of the line.)
