Hey all.

Saw this style of fly in an American magazine given to me by a friend. Pretty unusual and I'd never seen this done before. Do any of you guys use these at all? Much luck? Bloody good way of using up those fluffy hackle butts rather than throwing them away?!  8-) What's the opinion?

I think I'd be inclined to add a bit of CDC to the emerger.

Looks like the feather is tied in before the thorax and pulled over before tying down at the head ?
Woven body?
Step by step?  :D

.D.

Are you familiar with the "RS2", Dougie?

Another (more famous!) fly pattern that uses the soft stuff at the butts of hackles.

Another one I've not tried either  :).

Cheers,

.D.

Think I'll try them with an overlapping CDC wing.
