Title: Line Advice Needed
Post by: paulr on November 08, 2006, 01:56:30 PM
Hi folks,
I've always just used floating lines, but for next season im looking to buy an extra line to allow me to fish a little deeper on dour days when theres little surface action.
What does everyone else use?intermediates?sinks tips?I just want to get down a few feet below the surface.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
cheers
paul

Paul,

I have both intermediates and sink tips. I generally use the intermediate on lochs and the sink tip on shallow rivers.

The intermediate has the big advantage that it is easy to cast unlike the sink tip, which is less pleasant to use, due to the hingeing effect at the junction of the sinking portion.

Can't go far wrong with a slow intermediate, you can let it sink as deep as you like.
