I have been using this method for a good part of this season, and must say it's flippin grand. A pal of mine got me interested with his sexy, slippy connection that doesn't really bugger up the rod rings. So I searched around and found a great article by Dave Whitlock that goes through things in a lot of detail:

I now attatch a tiny leader ring maybe 7.5 feet down a good quality shop bought tapered leader. The rest of the cast is then nicely adjustable.

Give it a try, you'll be amazed   :o

Hi, I use one of these. I've had it for about 4 years (bought on a whim in Outdoor world in Orlando). Works a treat especially for folk like me who find Nail Knots fiddly.
