My copy arrived yesterday :D. It's like a "Best Rivers and Lochs Of Scotland", with some nice wee stories added. Not just a book on fishing, but an appreciation of the landscape and all the inhabitants we share it with.

The forum even gets a mention early on.  :8)

Well done Bruce. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

All the best

Billy

Not just a book on fishing, but an appreciation of the landscape and all the inhabitants we share it with.

And this is what sets Bruce Sandison apart from run of the mill authors. Years of firsthand knowledge, a deep appreciation and love of the places he writes about. Points that seem to be completely lost on some  judging by  the    ignorant and  puerile comments  I have read in the past on two other fishing forums, made by complete ignoramuses whose collective knowledge of  fishing in Scotland seems to stretch no further than from their  local rainbow fishery to Rescobie or Menteith.

Many, many thanks for these kind comments. Don't deserve them, but they are really appreciated. A month will see the updated text of the next edition of Rivers and Lochs of Scotland completed - then it is off to the publisher, and I am off fishing. Bruce

My copy arrived as well today and I returned back from Islay yesterday with a bottle of Bruichladdich. So this evening the plan is very simple - feet up with the book and a dram.

Arrived this morning.  Stupidly started reading it and now struggling to put it down.  My mind keeps wandering up north and its going to be a great reference book as well as just a good read.  Lots of little gems of information already.  Well done Mr S.  Only a few chapters in and already there's some bloke called Fred Carrie getting a mention..............

Really enjoying this book. Trouble is I spend my evenings reading it and wishing I could be on an extended trip to the North... I need to get organised, get up there and get fishing!
