I just added W.C. Stewart's "The Practical Angler" to my collection, it's just a scanned copy  of the original bound in a hard cover. it's OK.

This book and a few others are well out with their copyright period and are now "open source". Anyone know a good on-line source of such books where they can be downloaded?

Thanks Mike. Not sure how I missed that.  :?

You were probably listening to music and playing with software!  :)

I just downloaded Edmunds & Lee. it's an OCR scan which is far better than I expected.

I just uploaded enhanced plates for the Edmonds and Lee book;

These will print nicely on a decent colour printer.

Practically all the scans available are good, the PDF's are usually the best, the only ones that are invariably lousy are Google scans.

Make sure to try other stuff there as well, not just fishing;

By the way, if you search on "Download count" in a topic you can find some really good stuff that you might otherwise not even be looking for!;

Can't beat the bird in the hand, even if it is a scanned copy.
