Title: Dipper Nippers
Post by: waafisher on April 11, 2009, 01:27:43 AM
A first cast of the season today and a walk along the River Blackadder. Highlight was to see the Dippers busily feeding their new brood under the road bridge.
Magic.

They used to be persecuted for eating the beasties that salmon parr would eat.

used to be?

Game preservation is a wonderful thing, just part of what makes Britain the laughing stock of the world great

Thanks for the comments guys. Really enjoying the new camera and getting "closer" to the wildlife when out on the river. Had a good hour or two on the Blackadder with about 15 small fish keen to come to the Greenwell Spider, Snipe & Purple and the Black Spider. Had a good few 5"/6" silver energetic fish - smolts?
Whilst posting can I ask if the attached is a female Stonechat. Photographed it yesterday on way to have a cast on the Whiteadder (nae fish!).
