I spent a lot of time today watching these Canada geese.  This lot nest on Speirs Island at Hillend - a large and noisy colony.  When the young arrive there can be up to one hundred of them grazing at different parts of the loch.  There was a lot of scrapping going on this morning with the ducks and a couple of swans but all on the far side of the island where a boat is needed to watch them.  The island is off limits during the nesting season where they are quite safe from predators.
