Tonight.

It does not seem terribly pleased to see you. :D
Superb.
Very nice photo, but the little critter seems annoyed with you. :P
Couldn't resist mucking about with the otherwise fine photo ....

It's a cracking photos, but I certainly would not want to be bitten by one of these buggers. That entire Mustelidae family from wolverine down to weasel know how to use their teeth.
Thanks for the kind comments, and the edit Malcolm.
It is one of a pair that visit each evening- I put out food.
The have become accustomed to the security light and my presence.
Last night was the first attempt with the camera. They hear the autofocus bleep and scamper at the shutter noise, but return within a minute or so. That shot was around number 14 of 16 that I took, he was clearly getting p1ssed off with the paparazzi.
Doesn't the camera have a stealth mode or wildlife mode on it that suppresses the noise of the autofocus and the shutter?
I prefer the one with the shining eyes. It's more artistic and menacing.
So much for the "solitary animal" stuff.....

Thanks Sandy.
I can switch off the focus confirmation beep, but the noise of the motor focussing the lens and that of the shutter remain.
My plan is to get them accustomed to the noises.
There are plenty of folk who have managed to hand-feed them- my ultimate goal until I saw the teeth!
I preferred the bright eyes too as it happens! All I did to create the eyes was to clone a bit of fur over the white eyes using Picasa. then dragged a bit of ear to create the slightly lighter spots. Cracking pictures. I've got a few shots of pine martins feeding on a bird table. They are wonderful creatures.
I have a memory of reading an outdoor book based in Canada where the guy hand reared two wolverines. Apparently they were absolutely fearless even when confronted by wolves.
