Gents after dispatching your fish do you tend to clean the fish immediately or do you leave till the end of the day ?.reason for asking on the two/three day trips we tend to clean as we catch if we plan to take a few hame?.tend to clean and leave sunk deep in the water inside a hessian bag by the loch. A sort of nature?s cooler ?   :) :)
Any tips for keeping them fresh  :)? baring in mind this strange hot weather we are having and may continue through the summer  :??..Do hate to see fish going to waste. :x

Next Loch side cooking  :??.any tips for cooking the wee troots apart from a quick fry in the auld frying pan  :?? something using the open fire method would do ?..Have heard yi can wrap them in auld news paper and soak them in the loch and place them in the embers ?as soon as the paper is about dry yer troot is cooked ?.not tried ? 8)

Aye the paper method is magic. If you happen to accidentally let the paper catch fire as well it gives the trout a lovely smoked flavour :)

Many moons ago I was told if you soaked the hessian bag of fish/meat in the water, and then hung it in the shade,
it kept them fresher than leaving them submerged.
Cooling effect of the breeze etc.

Of course it was a long time ago, I've had several bangs to the head since, so could well be a lot of pish
