Post by: loch coulter on May 15, 2014, 10:51:09 PM
having looked at older posts regarding the law on fishing tidal water would i be ok to fish the Naver estuary and the Kyle of Tongue without a permit. as it would come under civil laws only? :?

It depends upon what you are fishing for? My understanding is that you would need a permit for both these waters if you were fishing for salmon or sea-trout.

Would be interested to know exactly what the law is, I was fly fishing on Lunan beach and one of the netsman said "all the Salmon and Sea trout are mine, if you catch one, you will have to give it to me". I replied that I think you have a licence to "net" all the Salmon and Sea trout, you don't own wild fish. He walked off without a reply.
