Post by: SoldierPmr on September 10, 2015, 08:55:34 PM
Well here is a link for one of the best prices I can find though it is a hatchet your not going to be felling trees with it but it can do pretty much anything else.

I've just ordered my self the large carving hatched (same head different handle)

For something abit more versitle and all rounders here are acouple of others.

And

http://woodsmithexperience.co.uk/shop/product/gransfors-bruk-hunters-axe/ (http://woodsmithexperience.co.uk/shop/product/gransfors-bruk-hunters-axe/)

These axes are small enough to fit in your pack and light enough not to notice.

Your paying for a hand forged axe which should last a life time.

Well the large carving hatchet arrived today and I've got to say I'm impressed so far it's worth the money and unlike most blades came hair popping sharp. I gave it a quick go on a birch kuksa and it took minutes to axe out the rough shape from a split trunk. (compared to my 64 year old Elwell) which would take over an hour.
