A very bonny bird. Great when one flashes past on the river.

When coarse fishing with my rod on a rod rest, a Kingfisher landed on it, dived in the river, came up with a minnow, beat it to death on my rod, ate it and flew away. I kept getting bites and my float disappearing, but I just sat and watched, such a privilege. Often when sat quietly on the river bank I have had all manner of wildlife accept you and wander over, on one night in Norfolk in the 1970's I had a Coypu wander through the reeds to see me, that was a bit of a fright, big animals, I was glad they were vegetarian.
