Title: DAIWA 9' 6" OSPREY WHISKER 4-PIECE FLY ROD AFTM #6-8
Post by: Fishtales on April 28, 2005, 08:51:13 PM
Anybody got any thoughts on the above as a hill loch rod, good, bad, indifferent :)

ATM I use the 10' #6-8 and wondered if this might be a reasonable replacement.

A touch  heavy for the wee troots perhaps, however, that said I used a  #7 for just about all my own fishing for years. I am of the opinion  that it is difficult to go wrong with Daiwa rods full stop. They may not have the kudos  of the cool  ?see  how big this 500 quid rod makes  my knob look??     but they are none the worse for that. As general purpose rods they are hard to beat.  I would go for it if the price is right! Is it an Ebay job?

Thanks Fred. I use Diawa all the time and find the 10' with a #7 fine even for wee burn trout. It is the three piece traditional :) You are correct, it is sitting at ?13 +?6 for P&P and thought it might be worth a bid :)

Glad you told me :) I was watching it too as a backup to the one I have as it is getting a bit thumbed.
