I've never seen the point of midge suits though I know a few who like them, I just wear shirt/fleece/jacket and a midge net over hat, though I keep about 1/2 dozen nets stored in different rucksacks, bags and pockets.

I know a couple of professional deerstalkers who swear by the midgie suits for dealing with beasts on the hill, although one of them is based on Skye which, if not the birthplace of the wee b*stards, is certainly a fortified stronghold.

I think the gel (or the cream equivalent) is less prone to running into eyes and the corners of your mouth than the liquid. Not sure it's great for fly lines or aquaculture though

Ah, thanks for the link Sandy. The way it was described to me I had a mental picture of some something a little more "Marcel Marceau" in fit but with a higher neckline (or maybe that was a dream I had  :shock:  ).

I had a cyclist staying once who wore one of the one piece jackets and hoods.... however he also had lycra shorts and completely uncovered legs. He thought that pedalling was going to be enough to stop them settling on him.
