No wonder great British gear companies like Karrimor have died :(

Oi !!!!

I have  2 Vango tents you know.    An old Force 10  (all cotton) 2 man and another that will sleep 3 at a pinch. So I have done my bit. The problem is Calum that much of the ?British? gear we buy is also made  cheaply in  the far East  but you still have to pay home made prices for it.    My old Vangos are too heavy to carry  very far and all the other lightweights cost an arm and a leg to buy. That?s why the Argos tent has been such a hit.

johnsd

just gone and bought 1/2 price karrimor rucsac from argos only to keep this thread going lol.
yer going where

Calum, I bought my Force 10 in the 70s? Cotton and heavy (>10lb )but superb. Cotton tents are far more pleasant to sleep in, no condensation and they don?t crack and bang in the wind. I still have it but have not used it for  years. It has great sentimental value. My other Vango I bought in  Tisos in Aberdeen  about 7 years ago. It is a cracker and will sleep 3 at a  push although it is more practical for 2. Heavy again though  ~5KG.
