I'm sitting here tying flies; after all the season has started, best get busy. 

I look to my right, through the window, into the courtyard. The wind is howling through the archway, intermittent snow showers rip  through.

That's right, Spring started yesterday the Spring Equinox. No different from most other years. Cold, windy and snow

I am a simple lad from the west living in the east wishing he was further north so I am easily confused.

The picture of your nice new tying station from a previous post suggests the window is on the left! Are you that good you can tie behind your back?

Its more like mid jan than mid march at the minute and if there's any truth in what i heard on the radio this mornin, its to be cold til mid april

At least., but you just never know for sure. I'm sure last March they were not  forecasting the dreadful April and May we had.

The close season was long enough, but this weathers only adding to it. (in my case anyway)
Ive not wet a line since fishing the river stinchar on the 31st oct last yr!!
