ten boaber

Hi all
Been surfing the dreaded ebay and found a
5 piece "Richel" Travel Rod #5/6 for ?37.97 inc p+p
Seems very cheap ( too cheap if there is such a thing )
I want to lighten up my gear and it is all very confusing
I only have one rod and it is 20 yrs old
Don't mind spending money but also don't want to pay
big money for equipment I don,t enjoy using
This seems like a compromise until I find if I if I enjoy the
light weight ( for me ) gear
Any thoughts would be appricated
cheers

Cheers Swithen
If no one knows of Richel can anyone suggest
an entry level rod so I can get started?
The pictures of the lasses we the big fish just
heighten my suspicion or am I just being cynical?
Would like to hear everyone's tuppence

Cheers boys
at the moment I have an old Shakespeare Sigma #7/8 9'6'
Well that's not exactly true as I have snapped the tip and it
is probably an inch or two short( where have I heard that before   )
I am thinking of getting lighter gear but don't know too much about it
Who says ignorance is bliss? Oh aye the boys fae Arbroath

Ten boaber, have another look at E-bay again and you'll find a range of rods from Gamefisher U.K.  Their rods start at around ?18 up to ?22 or thereabouts. Two spring to mind, a 2-piece 8' # 5  and a 5-piece 9-footer rated 6/7.  The 5-weight is nice and crisp, light and, for the money is excellently finished, and they send it in a black plastic rod tube.  The 9-footer, 6/7 weight is more middle to tip and once again finished to a very high standard. They also do a 7'6" #3/4 ( I think ) and a 9'6" #7/8 which is either 4 or 5 piece. Might be of interest to you if you haven't picked a rod yet.
              Anyway, tightstring, Greenwell.
