I would say my limited encounters this year is that the salmon are in better nick, I only had 7 but only 1 looked slim and many were in much better condition to previous years

I suspect Fred noticed the pictures of two I had at Garynahine last Thursday. They made the Bervie fish look like telly tubby.    :(

I saw your thin fish Gordon, but they were just two out of the many I have seen this year. East coast fish are just as bad. Grilse in particular seem to be badly affected, perhaps the farther travelled heavy fish that feed outwith the seas raped and pillaged by the insane EU  fisheries policies fare better?

The fish down here have all looked normal which is unusual as they all come from the same feeding grounds.
