I did have loose plans to get out for a closing day cast today, but to be honest the wind was more suitable for a beach caster and a 4 ounce lead that a fly rod.  ::)

Roll on March 15th 2024!  :)

I was out on Monday for five from the tube on a loch at 1,200ft. Not that cold but the loch was a lot more dour than usual. Saw only a handful of rises.
Out today for four hours in a boat on one of my club lochs which has rainbows mixed in. 3 rainbows and one brown with the wind dying back through the day but a slow sinking line on to go down a wee bit. Fish all in the best of condition but hardly fast and furious.
Went across and lent a pair of multi tool pliers to another boat where we could see something was going on. Turned out one angler had put his fly right into the ear of his partner. Fly cut through and both bits then removed successfully and some Covid sanitiser rubbed in about the ear. NHS couldn't have done a better job.
