Do you use one?  If so what type and what would you recommend?

Highlander

I use a wee Carborundrum stone. I have an old Abu one that is slotted inmy loch bag & a even older Pegley Davies one I bought of E Bay a few years back for a couple of quid formy river bag. Just a little fine flat one in it's own case. Have never used these but the "Ezi Lap" diamond I am told is highly recommended if somewhat expensive. If I have to be honest I use them more for Salmon flies than Trout but certainly "A Must Have" in the bag, definately.

I have a combined  snipper/nail knot tier/sharpener. It cost far too much, being Orvis.
The sharpener is useful when fishing nymphs, which get blunted by hitting rocks and snags. Sometimes fish take them too :)
