Nice one Scotfly. Fished fast on a loch, Peter does as well as any other fancy fly for me.

Funny you should mention that. Back home there used to be a guy from Dumfries who regularly fished my local reservoir, his routine was always the same. Park car and literally run down to the water edge, enter the water with the grace and poise of a drunk Hippo, then it was swishswishswishsplash stripstripstrip and bang a fish was on. He would then proceed to run round the reservoir repeating the process in several spots, get a few fish and within 2 hours he'd be back in the car and on his way home! He always had a Peter Ross on the point. Meanwhile I would be carefully wading and making my casting as delicate as possible and blanking!!
I was always left perplexed at how he did everything wrong, yet still caught more than his share of fish.
