Title: Easy On-Off Waders
Post by: piscatus absentis on May 03, 2006, 08:34:50 PM
If you are no longer in the first flush of youth and have trouble bending try this one.

For sock foot waders.  Tie a poly bag over the wader foot before sliding on your boot.  Especially useful if you have used Aquasure or patches to mend the foot.  If you want you can show a nice white cuff.

For attached boot waders once again tie a poly bag round your sock before sliding on the waders.

Tesco or Greggs bags are perfect.  Also very good over neoprene socks/bootees.

Don't leave the bags behind you.

Good tip Piscatus. I can't touch my toes as easily as I used to. But then I never could
I'll give it a go.

Nylon rich socks over your wool ones should work the same, the static electricity makes them slide, and you don't get wet cold feet with the sweat inside the plastic bags. Good idea for leaky waders though, as are bin bags up over the knees :)

I just tried the poly bag technique with my wet suit- worked a treat. I usually shove my bare foot in, get stuck, wobble a bit then fall over. Top tip. I thank you.
