Title: Partridge Klinkhamer Extreme Hooks – poor hookers / holders?
Post by: Wildfisher on September 06, 2011, 08:52:28 AM
I am starting to have real doubts about these hooks. They tie a great fly with a long abdomen and certainly attract fish, however I suspect my hook-up rate on these is lower than with say – Kamasn B100s and I definitely drop more fish with them. I think this may be a problem with smaller fish as I have had lots of bigger fish (4lb+)  on them in New Zealand  with no  apparent problems, but that could just be good fortune and not statically relevant (you rise / catch far fewer fish there).

I know Joe  has binned all his flies tied on Partridge  Klinkhamer Extremes for the above reasons.

Any thoughts on this?

Kamasan B100 for me , still using a few Partridge klinks, but never again the extremes, not only are they poor hookers, in my experience when they do get a purchase in the scissors of a troot they can be hard to get out
