T & S this month (read in the doctor's surgery this morning, long story.....)
"fly-fishing is a great delight, but fishing in close proximity to other anglers raises it to an even higher level"

Actually when you consider standard Scottish loch fishing it's probably right. Two or three of you drifting around in a boat, blind casting, catching bandies. The banter and company are (for me anyway) part of the deal for that kind of fishing. Doing it alone would be mind numbing.  However for serious fly fishing I prefer to be alone. On rivers especially the last thing I want to see is another angler.
