Go for it auld yin.  ;D

Already in training Fred. I did twenty minutes on the Treadmill today and when the schools go back I will do two or three miles on three days and another 1¾ miles on one day, she goes to clubs after school two days :) I'll get that to between 3 and 5 miles on the three days as my legs get fitter :) I also have a rucksack weighted with 20 Kilos which I will be using for weight training. Who says I'm old anyway?

What's the project you're training for Sandy - sounds like it's going to be epic!  :-)

Just general fitness so I can do it :) If you want to carry 18kilos into the hills you need to train for it, thinking you can just get up and do it isn't a good thing.

You could probably get that down more by spending a small fortune on titanium cookware and freeze dried meals that cost £12  each

This is my spreadsheet for trips. Some things can be dropped or I might add something depending on where/when or how long I am going for.

Assynt probably or maybe Moidart. Will wait 'till nearer the time to decide.

A lot of climbing at Moidart. Applecross is not as arduous and has pretty good fishing. Getting somewhere to park safely is an issue there though.

One long walk straight up but once there it isn't that bad. There is a new hill road up to the lochs for a hydro scheme which is easier than the hill path we used the last twice :)
