When we lived in Oban there was a long bend on the Loch Etive shore going east from Connel to Taynuilt. The estate had Highland coos and it was a seriously bad traffic prang hotspot for tourists stopping for holiday photos. Stop on the bend rather than walk back a hundred yards !!

Yes the regeneration has been impressive for sure. It is a special place.

The trees have seeded out and  established well in recent years. A magical place.
I camped nearby aged 12 with the walking club at Dunfermline High School. We went up Macdui, Derry Cairngorm, Cairntoul and Beinn Breach all in a week. That was me truly hooked!!!

The slight bay beneath the obvious dark crag on  the right was always a char hotspot.

I'm pretty sure Dave Felce (Corsican Dave) has fished there.

Has anyone ever fly fished Amazonia?

I stumbled across this outfit some years ago. I'm familiar with pretty much all of their target species due to having had some involvement in the aquarium hobby where pretty much all the fish fished for occasionally make an appearance.

Now, this kind of trip is eating away at me. I feel it's now top of my bucket list. I just wondered has anyone here fished the fly out there?
