Title: Mini-cons or should that be micro-cons
Post by: Billy on February 11, 2015, 07:38:59 AM
The TV was cr4p last night. Nothing new there so I decided to check my lines on my reels ready for the new season.

One of my braided loops looked a bit worn so I made up my mind to pick some Roman Mosers from Somers today then I remembered that I had a spool of braided backing in my fly tying cupboard so I had a wee rummage and found it after emptying the two drawers.  :banana

An hour later and I had 15 braided mini-cons lying on the table. I used a mini latch picker (£2.50 from Hobbycraft) to feed up through the hollow braiding and pull the end back through.

These are not just mini-cons but more like micro-cons. I tend to find the normal run of the mill ones a bit on the large side as I use a very long leader  when I am fishing and sometimes they stick a little on the top eye.

I reckon I just need to pick up some heatshrink tubing from Maplin which is maybe 1.6 mm dia and coppers to buy and that will be me sorted for a good few seasons. I fancy red for the tubing if I can get it.

Thank god for cr4p TV. :D :D
