Can anyone of the expert tyers out there give me some details on tying a Silver or Gold Cascade.
I'm planning a few wee doubles for later on September time for some tourists and fancy this as my best chance.

Is this it?

I tie mine like this:
Tail - yellow and orange bucktail/artic fox/any hair that is mobile - with a generous helping of crystal flash.
Body - back half, either Gold or Silver tinsel.
Body - front half, black - I sometimes use tinsel, sometimes use seal and quite often use straggle fritz.
Rib - I just use wire of an appropriate colour
Wing - Black - a mobile fur as suggested above. I tend to use artic fox. Again some more crystal flash.
Cheeks - jungle cock tied to lie under the hackle.
Hackle - Yellow under Orange.
Its a flashly, bold fly, good for when there is a wee bit colour in the water.

Thanks Folks,
Thats just what I'm after. The variant I'm going for is a sparsley tied smaller version on a size 10 double. It will have an all silver body and lean more towards the Orange colours with plenty of flash in the buck tail. Its a nice fly tied like this and works well in areas of Seatrout with the chance of the smaller Salmon.
I was given a fly like this in the Western Isles and it has proved most effective - they didn't really bother too much about the JC cheeks.
Again thanks for the info and I'll follow most of the SBS for the methodology.
