Title: Jackdaw and Magpie Scalps
Post by: Robbie on February 08, 2012, 03:50:49 PM
Is there much difference between the feather on Jackdaw and Magpie scalps?  Can they be used interchangeably? Or is there sufficient difference to merit buying both?

Cheers,
Robbie

Think you will find that not many use Jackdaw never mind Magpie scalp to be able to advise.
Whilst I have & do on occasion use Jackdaw I have never used Magpie.
The colours seem to be quite similar a "bluey grey"  I note that Magpie is available at GAC at £3.50 a piece. Why not just but both & experiment.

Thanks for replying, thought it was worth asking the question just.  As you say it is not a huge expense, from Cookshill the magpie scalp is £3.00 and the Jackdaw £2.50, so will probably go for both.

Thanks again,
Robbie

I forgot about Cookshill. For those wanting "natural"materials fur & feather then that is the place to go.
