Ihave an external hard drive with hundreds of albums on it which i can play on my laptop but when i convert any of them to a cd i cannot play it on the car radio, is there anyway i can convert from mp3 to ordinary cd to allow me to listen to the music in the car or any cd player?
hope youse understand what i mean!
I'm sure some one can help more than me but I think when you convert there is a option to change the format from .mp3 to a .wav file.
It's easy enough Tommy, just get the software. Look here for some options

Depends how old your CD player is. Modem players will play MP3 burned you'd is older ones use CDA format. The other alternative is if your music player has any auxiliary socket then plug a really cheap MP3 player into it.
Here's another thought for you! I bought one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Tunecast-Transmitter-Charge-iPhone/dp/B008RGW0VG/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1434139961&sr=8-11&keywords=iphone+radio+transmitter (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Tunecast-Transmitter-Charge-iPhone/dp/B008RGW0VG/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1434139961&sr=8-11&keywords=iphone+radio+transmitter)... So, I can keep my music on the iPhone and play it through the car radio without any wiring etc.
I don't think you actually need an iPhone, this sort of thing is available for most MP3 players I think.
Now - it works fine in Uist (probably not to cd quality tbh) but we aren't exactly plagued with radio signals round here! I'm not sure how it might work in urban areas...
