And this is where they are all made. In my loft among the banana boxes. I used to have a desk all set up in the spare room but the wife made me flit to the loft. It's going to be helluva cold up there in the winter.

Another fly added to the bottom of my virtual fly box.[see above] I don't know what you call it most probably a magpie and peacock. Noticed Piscatus absentas was recommending its use this month so I thought I would tie up a couple and use them later on today. Comments appreciated.

It appears you cut your deer hair at the ends, is there a particular reason for this?   If this is the case and it is successful then I have three skins where the deer hair has all been used from the middle up to the tips or is this going to be too thick.
Your magpie wing feather is not too far removed from Breac's Mauler and that can be a very successful fly.

The only reason the deer hair appears cut is that I tied them in incorrectly, The vid I followed actually showed that the deer hair was tied in at the butt ends I obviously tied them in the wrong way round.I'm just a novice.

No criticism intended.  Often wondered if I should just use the thicker end but have not been brave enuff to try.  Mostly the ends are all above water and I don't see how the fish could possibly distinguish tips or ends.  I fish a lot with cdc elks and wondered if it would just be as good using the "ends" created when you use the tips of the deer hair.  Might be out tomorrow so I will try but first of all they have to be taking the "normal" cdc elk.  Will let you know how I get on if I get out.
