Looks like a bit of headless dried up carrion to me... the fish not the bird :)

First thing an osprey does is eat the head off. Once he had done that he delivered the fish to the chicks in the nest.

I was looking at the skin which looks dry and leathery as if it had been lying about for a while.

He brought it from Rescobie which is abut 1/2 mile away. I guess fish do dry out quite quickly in this weather
