Title: Silk Cut Shrimp (modern)
Post by: scotfly on February 20, 2008, 10:41:20 PM
If I?ve understood Andy Wrens instructions this is how he now ties his Silk Cut Shrimp now. If I haven?t I?ve inadvertently tied a new variations.
See here for the original and more detailed tying instructions. Silk Cut Shrimp (http://www.wildfisher.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6500.0)
I?ve tied this one fuller and on a different hook.

Instructions assume right-handed tyers

HOOK ? LeP?cheur #8 double
THREAD ? Red 6/0
TAIL ? Purple Bucktail + 4 strands Pearl Chrystal Hair
BODY ? Pearl Flash Bright
WING ? Dyed Purple Golden Pheasant Tippet
HACKLE ? Purple Cock
HEAD ? Red

STEP 1
Attach the thread and wrap towards the bend, catching in the tail as you go.

Followed by the Chrystal hair.
