Once my obstetric duties are over I'm hoping to get out on the North Norfolk Coast after some sea trout bass. I'm intending to use my Greys Kielder 9'10"#6,7,8. WF Wildfisher fly line of course but #7,8? My reels are not up to this so I was thinking of an Okuma Airframe. I would be really grateful to know whether I am making a mistake before purchase.

Nope, I'd do the same - in fact I did :) and I think Mike Connor did too.

It's a reel with a good drag and popular among UK saltwater fly fishermen.

Another vote for the Okuma.
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

I think the Airframe is the best possible choice for what you want to do. I have used them for a long time, absolutely excellent.

My son and I have both used the Airframe reels and think they will do the job for you.  No idea how many times Josh dropped his on rocks and in the river but never seemed to cause any problems.
