Anyone used the self inflating carry mats ....wee trip through to Go today and ended up buying two ....one for me and the other for my mate...

Made by Vango and called Trek self- inflating Mat Spec as follows

Vango Trek Long Self Inflating Mattress:  A mid-weight self inflating mat you can use on the hills, on the campsite or at home.

Built with a tough outer fabric and filled with 3cm diamond cut open cell foam, the Trek Mattress gives you a comfortable night?s sleep on all surfaces.

The Trek is supplied with stuff sac and a repair kit for all your family or sole sleeping needs.

I know you get the thermarest but they are a bit expensive and this at ?17.99 I thought was not bad ?..Since looked on

the web and can be bought cheaper

I think you will find the cheaper ones are the short ones, yours being long :)

What weight is in it Colin?

Found it, 1120g it says on the website, a bit on the heavy side for me. I use a closed cell foam Blaxmat.

I use 3/4 length thermarest. I've had mine for years. They may be heavier than mats although I've never weighed them but take up much less space, for that reason I would always use them.

The Alpkit Wee Eric 3/4 length at about ?15 is very light and excellent value for money. I also have a Thermarest Trail which is double the weight and cost that tends to get used on the camping trips when less of a hike is called for.
