I was in the Dobbies garden centre just outside Dundee this afternoon.  They already have a huge amount of Christmas decorations and trees on display.  This reminded me of a post by Taditionalist a couple of weeks ago regarding tinsel for pike flies.  A quick hunt around the display (much to the dismay of SWMBO) soon found these:

They are priced at 99p each for a reasonable sized hank, the individual strands are quite broad and the left hand one is cut in a wave pattern whilst the right hand is straight.  I managed to find silver gold and dark metallic grey variation.  Thought it may be of interest to some.

Cheers,
Robbie

If it's the right stuff it's a bargain. Take a strand in your hands and pull it to see how strong it is. The right stuff is pretty strong, more than strong enough for fly-dressing.  If it is the right stuff, get a shedload! :)   I can guarantee you will have trouble finding it again!

I had a quick fondle and it seemed quite durable, considerably heavier than normal flytying tinsel.
