Before my last outing I dunked all my deer hair flees in green mucillin and left them to dry out. They floated pretty well but even better were the ones I'd ginked up and allowed to dry.

The revelation for me though was a little bottle of fumed silica powder that I'd bought sometime over the close season. It absolutely worked miracles on a drowned hedgehog and they were riding over the top of the water after a quick brush with the stuff - proper miracle so it was  :D

It was from a chap going by the name of "stalker" over on the other forum back in January. He had bought it in bulk and was selling it off in little bottles with an applicator brush.
I think that you can get a similar thing commercially sold as "Frog's Fanny" but it probably costs a fair bit more too.
