Any idea what make this old cane rod is?

If the chap who owned the rod was a regular N./S. Esk fisher then perhaps there is a clue in that. One of Gow's ( Dundee ) own built?

I rather fancy Gows as the maker, or Alex Martin, late of Frederick Street in Auld Reekie from whence came my first cane rod.

Only a personal opion, so please don't come down on me like a ton of dung, but I have fished with a cane rod all my life.

I know that I will continue to do so until the final call. Just seems right for me.
