been searching for reviews on the Orvis, seems to be excellent for keeping you dry but it is not windproof and therefor wont keep you warm.but i like the idea that it stuffs into one of its own pockets then you just zip it up.could be just what im looking for to put in my waistcoat when im up the river.

Just what I'm looking for. I have ordered one on-line  (would not use the local Orvis store at the moment). It's  not cheap for a waterproof, but given that the Snowbee one I bought last year is leaking badly already it's worth paying  extra for the Orvis back-up. Snowbee boots and clothing are utter rubbish in my experience. My wading jacket also  started to come apart at the inner seems after a few uses. The stuff seems to be cheap and badly made far eastern products.

I saw that Andy, most were positive, two were not.  I'm banking on the fact that if I get a bad one Orvis will replace it.  :8)

Looks ok ! I like the cuff design for handling fish in the water and recovering my flies stuck on stones.
I have had a couple of Orvis Gortex jackets.

If it is the same white lining that was on a Craghoppers jacket I had then make sure you hang it up outside in after each trip. I think it is the dampness that gets between the layers and it starts to disintegrate. Mine lasted for quite a few years before it started doing that and I think that was just old age and carrying it around rolled up all the time :)
Don't worry, be happy.

Carried it in full, then carry it out empty.
