Quite Taken by St. John’s Loch

I got out of the car and surveyed St. Johns loch for the first time. I have to say I wasn’t immediately taken by it. To me at least it seemed flat featureless and dare I say it almost artificial looking.

Remote Waters: Lonely Loch

thumb-lonelyI remember reading  an article by a well known Scottish loch angler that appeared more than a little dismissive of, even mocking, anglers who hike for miles over midge infested bog, or climb half way up a mountain to catch a few fish that might be more accurately weighed in ounces than in pounds.
